Templates

Help customers get started by packaging pre-made templates they can immediately edit. Templates provide a starting point for designs and can significantly reduce the time customers spend creating their custom designs.

Creating Designer Templates

Store owners can preload canvas layouts with pre-configured elements. From the admin dashboard, select KIT Designer > Design Templates > Create Template.

Template Components

  • Base Layout: Pre-configured canvas dimensions and print areas
  • Cliparts: Pre-positioned design elements
  • Text Elements: Pre-formatted text with placeholders
  • Colors: Pre-selected color schemes
  • Patterns: Pre-applied background patterns

Template Creation Process

  1. Navigate to KIT Designer > Design Templates
  2. Click Create New Template
  3. Select the product to create a template for
  4. Design the template using the designer interface
  5. Add shapes, cliparts, and text elements
  6. Configure template settings (name, category, visibility)
  7. Save the template

Template Settings

General Settings

  • Template Name: Descriptive name for the template
  • Category: Organize templates by category (sports, corporate, casual)
  • Description: Brief description of the template
  • Thumbnail: Preview image for template gallery
  • Visibility: Public (all customers) or Private (specific groups)

Element Locking

Lock specific static blocks so customers cannot delete them:

  • Company Logo: Lock to ensure branding consistency
  • Mandatory Elements: Lock required design elements
  • Background Elements: Lock background patterns or colors
  • Unlock Variables: Allow editing of text, colors, and replaceable elements

Dynamic Placeholders

Add dynamic placeholders that customers can customize:

  • Text Placeholders: "Your Name", "Your Number", etc.
  • Image Placeholders: "Upload your logo here"
  • Color Placeholders: "Choose your team color"

Template Categories

Organize templates into logical categories:

  • Sports: Team jerseys, sports equipment designs
  • Corporate: Business uniforms, branded apparel
  • Casual: Everyday wear, casual designs
  • Seasonal: Holiday-themed templates
  • Industry: Healthcare, hospitality, education
